The Game 7-24-19

Dave McCaig and Jamie Antonello are at Sportscenter Bar and Grill for the Wednesday edition of "The Game" on 75 cent wing night. They open the show with "In The Pocket' local edition, featuring playoff updates for the JV Sabercats and Soo Steelers along with Varsity Sabercats last weekend playoff exit reaction.

The second half of the show opens with "Cross-Table" discussion with three topics, Julio Jones stating he is going to be going for 3000 yards this year, Kawhi Leonard discussion reacting on his press conference debut, CBA violation and NBA talk, and finally the unfortunate death of boxer Maxim Dadashev and the world of boxing.

Highlights of today's show include...Joining the Detroit Lions as offensive coordinator in 2019, (age 49),Darrell Bevell brings 18 seasons of NFL experience, including 12 as a coordinator. Leading the Seattle Seahawks’ offense from 2011-17, Bevell helped guide the team to five playoff appearances, three NFC West championships, two NFC Conference titles and one Super Bowl championship (XLVIII) in that span.

The Game 7-22-19

On this Monday Night edition of "The Game", coming live to ESPN 1400 in Sault Ste. Marie next Monday, Scott Nason starts the show recapping the local sports scene, with Dave McCaig, including some of the sports activities going on in summer sports, along with LSSU athletics, junior hockey, Soo Steelers and Sabrecats and Soo native Ron Francis the new GM of the Seattle NHL franchise.

We have a special edition of "Butch On Sports" with Butch Davis on tonight's show, giving our listeners the latest happenings in the world of sports in Detroit. EJ Russell joins the crew for the second hour round table, where they discuss the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, safety in baseball with netting put up along the sides of the fields, the British Open and athletes then and now, along with their thumbs up and thumbs down for the week.

The Game 7-21-19

This Sunday afternoon edition of "The Game" broadcasts from Pier 55 at Northern Superior Brewery as host David McCaig and Analyst Alex Parr (Sault Online/ONNTV) open the show with local baseball discussion, the "In The Pocket" Segment featuring local football recap and reaction along with MLB talk, with Marcus Stroman and Vlad Jr.

The second part of the show features an interview with former professional goaltender Frank Palazzese. Frank and Dave talk about Frank's days in Major Junior and in the ECHL, as well as some other entertaining stories and reactions.

Dave and Alex finish the show with NHL updates, with reactions about the recent trade between the Flames and Oilers/Lucic and Neal, along with Ron Francis being named the the GM in Seattle.

 

The Drive 7-18-19

Scott Nason joins Paul VanWagoner each week on his sports talk show "The Drive", heard weekday's 4-6pm on ESPN Blacksburg www.espnblacksburg.com

On this episode they talk Big 10 football, just over a month away from the season beginning, and which teams to watch out for in the Big 10 East and West Divisions.

Highlights of today's show include...The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has claimed forward/center Christian Wood off waivers. Wood, 6-10, 214, appeared in 21 games last season with Milwaukee and New Orleans averaging 8.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game.

The Game 7-17-19

Justin Hykel and Jamie Antonello are at Sportscenter Bar and Grill for the Wednesday edition of "The Game" on 75 cent wing night. They start the show with the "In the Pocket" segment, with discussion about local Football with the Soo Sabercats previous weekend recap and upcoming playoff weekend! Games at 4pm and 7pm respectively at Superior Heights July 20th!

The second half of the show dives into "Cross Table" discussion, with NFL Camp reminders, NBA news and reaction, along with some golf discussion and other back n forth points from the fellas!

On this Monday Night edition of "The Game", coming soon to ESPN 1400 in Sault Ste. Marie, Scott Nason starts the show recapping the local sports scene, with Dave McCaig, including some of the sports activities going on, LSSU Volleyball schedule, and looking at some of the area teams high school football schedules along with the Sabrecats and early look at the Hounds.

Butch Davis from "Butch On Sports" joins the show, recapping the Detroit sports scene along with EJ Russell from Mo's Pub in Escanaba, for the second hour round table along with Dave and Scott, where they discuss a new league testing out stealing first base, the NHL off-season, Madden '20 rankings, along with Wimbledon, the World Cup of Cricket and favorite sports other than the "Big Four". They also share their thumbs up and thumbs down for the week.

Over two hours of sports content you won't find anywhere else, local, regional, and national sports talk and opinion on "The Game". Dave McCaig and Butch Davis will have shows this week and we will be back online next Monday night and on ESPN 1400 later this month for the full two hour show.

The Game 7-14-19

This Sunday afternoon edition of "The Game" broadcasts from Pier 55 at Northern Superior Brewery as host David McCaig and Analyst Alex Parr (Sault Online/ONNTV) open the show talking about local and regional hockey camps in particular with Dom Delucas Hockey Camp, the AP Development Camp, and NHL updates, with the stacked names remaining on the RFAs with Mitch Marner, Patrick Laine, Matthew Tkachuk and more!

Part two of the show talks about some events going on at Pier 55 and Soo, Ontario, as the community is coming together to get local known community hard worker Chris Carr "The Superstar" a bike, as his bike was stolen. Dave and Alex also discuss local and professional baseball, including the amazing night of tribute to Tyler Skaggs of the Angels, and July 31st trade deadline discussing surrounding the Blue Jays, Marcus Stroman and Ken Giles.

Marie this month. Special guest is Mark SanAngelo, Operations Manager from Sovereign Communications, who talks about the history of the station, sports broadcasts and the future of The Game on their stations.

Butch Davis from "Butch On Sports" joins the show, recapping the Detroit sports scene along with EJ Russell from Mo's Pub in Escanaba, for the second hour round table along with Dave and Scott, where they cover the NHL and NBA Free Agent Markets, Women's World Cup along with their Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down for the week.
