Scott starts the show coving local high school sports, along with junior hockey and Lake Superior State athletics. 

Special guest on tonight's show is Kris Dunbar, Commissioner of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, who gives a spring sports update in the GLIAC.

Co-host David McCaig Jr. joins the show to talk about the Soo Greyhounds, Thunderbirds, Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays.

Co-host Butch Davis joins the show, talking about the Detroit sports scene, and joins Scott on the round table talking regional and national sports, and our thumbs up and thumbs down for the week.

Highlights of this edition include...Tigers starter Tyler Alexander on Sunday. With two outs in the first, he gave up an RBI single. With two outs in the third, he allowed a two-run home run. And with two outs in the fifth he gave up a two-run single.  Those make-or-break at-bats were the difference, as the Tigers fell 6-2 to the Colorado Rockies at Comerica Park.

Soo Eagles vs Soo Thunderbirds 4-23-22

Here is the broadcast of the Soo Eagles Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League game against the Soo Thunderbirds, from April 23, with Scott Nason and Rob Horn, on News Talk 1400 and Hockey TV.

The Soo Thunderbirds completed their 4-game sweep of the Soo Eagles in the West Division Finals, as they skated away with a 5-2 win in front of almost 1000 fans at Pullar Stadium on Saturday night. The T-Birds will play either Hearst or Timmins in the NOJHL Finals starting in May.

We will be back in September for the next season of Soo Eagles Hockey on News Talk 1400 and Hockey TV.

Sault vs Frankford 4-23-22

Here is the broadcast of the Sault High baseball game against Frankford, in the final of the Frankfort Tournament from April 23, with Dave Watson, on 1230 WSOO.

The Blue Devils won the Tourney, with a 7-0 win over Frankfort, as Jonah McShane pitched the shutout.

The next Sault High broadcast will be on Friday, April 29, as they travel to Escanaba. You can hear those games, with Jack Hall, starting at 3:45 p.m., on your official radio home for Sault High athletics, 1230 WSOO

Sault vs Elk Rapids 4-23-22

Here is the broadcast of the Sault High baseball game against Elk Rapids, in the semifinals of the Frankford Tournament, from April 23, with Dave Watson, on 1230 WSOO.

The Blue Devils earned a 4-0 victory, as Garrett Gorsuch pitched the shutout, as they advanced to the title game against Frankfort.

 

Full Time 4-23-22

Soo Eagles vs Soo Thunderbirds 4-22-22

Here is the broadcast of the Soo Eagles Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League game against the Soo Thunderbirds, from April 22, with Scott Nason and Rob Horn, on News Talk 1400 and Hockey TV.

The Thunderbirds now lead the best-of-seven West Division Final, 3-0, as they cruised to a 4-1 win in Game 3 on Friday night at Pullar Stadium.

Our next Eagles broadcast will be on Saturday, April 23 as the Eagles try to stave off elimination in Game 4 against the T-Birds. You can hear that game on News Talk 1400 and watch the game on Hockey TV, starting with the pregame show at 6:45.

Butch On Sports 4-13-22

Soo Eagles vs Greater Sudbury 4-13-22

Here is the broadcast of the Soo Eagles Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League game against the Greater Sudbury Cubs, from April 13, with Scott Nason and Rob Horn, on News Talk 1400 and Hockey TV.

In Game 5 of their best-of-seven West Division Semifinal, the Cubs stay alive and force a Game 6 in Sudbury on Friday, as they skated to a 5-2 win Wednesday night at Pullar Stadium.

Our next Eagles broadcast will be on Saturday, April 16 in Game 7 against Greater Sudbury, or late next week in Game 3 of the Western Division finals against the Soo Thunderbirds. You can hear that game on News Talk 1400 and watch the game on Hockey TV, starting with the pregame show at 6:45.

Soo Eagles vs Greater Sudbury 4-9-22

Here is the broadcast of the Soo Eagles Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League game against the Greater Sudbury Cubs, from April 9, with Scott Nason and Rob Horn, on News Talk 1400 and Hockey TV.

In Game 2 of their best-of-seven West Division Semifinal, Seth Ferguson scored a third period goal to lift the Eagles to a 4-3 win, and a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven West Division semifinal series over the Cubs.

Games 3 and 4 will be in Sudbury on Monday and Tuesday. Our next Eagles broadcast will be on Wednesday, April 13, if a Game 5 is necessary. You can hear that game on News Talk 1400 and watch the game on Hockey TV, starting with the pregame show at 6:45.

Soo Eagles vs Greater Sudbury 4-8-22

Here is the broadcast of the Soo Eagles Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League game against the Greater Sudbury Cubs, from April 8, with Scott Nason and Rob Horn, on News Talk 1400 and Hockey TV.

In Game 1 of their best-of-seven West Division Semifinal, the Soo Eagles skated away with a 5-4 overtime win, as Alex Freund scored his first goal of the playoffs, two minutes into overtime.
